Training: Instruction to develop new skills.
If you meet all Azure for Students eligibility requirements, submit an Azure subscription-management support request for Microsoft to review the failed academic verification; repeatedly signing in with the same student email will not resolve “Unable to confirm your University ID.” ^1^
1. Confirm that the offer applies
Azure for Students requires that you:
- Are at least 18 years old.
- Are a full-time student at an accredited, degree-granting two-year or four-year institution.
- Can verify your academic status through your institution-issued email address.
- Are not claiming eligibility through a MOOC or professional training from a for-profit organization.
- Have not already received the one-subscription-per-customer offer. ^2^
If any requirement is unclear, ask your university’s IT or student-services department whether the institution and your specific student email domain are eligible for Microsoft academic offers.
2. Request an academic-verification review
- Sign in to the Azure portal.
- Open Help + support.
- Select Create a support request.
- Choose Subscription management and the closest available category for Azure for Students verification/account signup.
- Include:
- The exact error: “Unable to confirm your University ID.”
- Your university’s name and country/region.
- Your institution email domain—mask the username when posting publicly.
- The date and approximate time of the failed verification.
- Confirmation that you meet the eligibility requirements.
- Whether other students at your institution can activate Azure for Students.
- Keep a current student ID or enrollment letter available in case support requests evidence. Do not post those documents publicly.
Azure provides subscription-management support, and support requests can be created and managed through the portal. ^3^
If you cannot create a portal ticket
Use the dedicated Azure for Students support form:
https://aka.ms/azureforstudentssupport
This route is intended for student-offer issues where no active Azure subscription is available for opening a normal portal request. ^4^
Do not create a paid subscription solely to troubleshoot this until the student-support route has reviewed the verification failure.
