Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I'm trying to set up Azure Pay-as-you-go billing, but I'm encountering an error while attempting to make the payment.

Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue and guide me through the steps to resolve it?

Thank you.Screenshot 2026-10-25 121959

Click Continue to Support on the VERIFICATION_FAILURE page and create an Azure Billing and Subscription Management request, including the timestamp, Session ID, and Correlation ID shown under Additional information.

This error confirms that signup verification failed, but it does not identify whether the failure came from the card, account information, browser, or another verification check. Azure Billing Support can investigate the specific attempt, and subscription-management support is available without a paid technical support plan.^1^

    Submit the support request

    1. On the error page, expand Additional information and save:
      • Error code: VERIFICATION_FAILURE
      • Timestamp
      • Session ID
      • Correlation ID
    2. Select Continue to Support.
    3. Choose Billing and Subscription Management or the closest available signup/subscription option.
    4. Include:
      • That this occurred while creating a Pay-as-you-go subscription.
      • The diagnostic values above.
      • Your country/region, card type, and issuing country—but not the full card number or CVV.
      • The screenshot and the approximate time of the failed attempt.
    5. Submit the request and retain its support-request number.

If that button does not open the request form, sign in to the Azure portal, select the ? in the global header, describe the signup failure, and then select Create a support request.^1^

Do not post the Session ID, Correlation ID, or payment information publicly; provide them only in the private support request.

Checks to perform before another attempt

    1. Match the billing identity exactly.
In the Microsoft account center, open Your info and ensure the billing and shipping information is complete. During Azure signup, the cardholder name and billing address must match the bank’s records, and the billing country/region must match the country/region selected in About you.^2^
    2. Use a supported card.
Azure does not accept virtual or prepaid cards. Contact the issuer to confirm that the card is active and enabled for international transactions. Regional restrictions apply—for example, Brazil and Hong Kong SAR support only credit cards, while India supports Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards.^3^
    3. Retry in a clean browser session.
Allow third-party cookies, use InPrivate/Incognito mode or another browser, and restart the browser before retrying. Third-party cookies are required for the card identity-verification flow.^2^
    4. Check the account type if a different message appears.
If Azure reports that the current account type is unsupported, use another eligible account. Accounts associated with an unmanaged Microsoft Entra directory or created through the Microsoft 365 Developer Program can be subject to specific purchase restrictions.^2^

A small temporary authorization hold can appear during card verification and is normally removed within three to five days.^2^
