Training: Instruction to develop new skills.
Hi 戴哲 姜 & thx for join me at Q&A platform,
Jiang, the fact that ur GitHub Education account is already verified and you're using an official ShanghaiTech University email is useful, but GitHub Education verification and Azure for Students eligibility are handled through separate verification processes. A successful GitHub verification doesn't automatically guarantee that Azure will approve the student subscription.
One thing I'd pay particular attention to is the country/region associated with ur Microsoft account and the Azure signup process. Azure operated by 21Vianet in mainland China is separate from the global Azure environment, and student offers and eligibility can differ between them. Make sure you're using the correct signup environment and that the account country matches ur actual location. I wouldn't recommend changing the country or using a VPN just to get past the verification check.
I'd also try signing in through a private browser session using the Microsoft account intended for the subscription, then complete the verification using ur university email. Check whether that email has already been associated with another Azure for Students subscription or a previous verification attempt. Repeated submissions probably won't help if the account is being rejected by an eligibility check on Microsoft's side.
The session ID and UTC timestamp you've provided are exactly the kind of information Microsoft needs to investigate the failed verification. Unfortunately, the public Q&A community can't access the internal student verification logs or manually approve an account.
Regarding the support link redirecting to Bing, that may indicate an outdated support shortcut. I'd ask a Microsoft Q&A moderator to route this case to the Azure for Students subscription and academic verification team, especially as u don't yet have an active subscription from which to create a normal Azure support request.
I'd specifically ask Microsoft to confirm whether the failure is related to the university's eligibility, account country, an existing student benefit, or a backend verification error. Also, avoid posting additional personal information or enrollment documents publicly. Those should only be provided through a secure support channel.
One question: is ur Microsoft account registered with mainland China as its country/region, and are u attempting to activate the global Azure for Students offer? That distinction could be important here.
rgds,
Alex
