Managing permissions and login credentials to access Microsoft Advertising accounts
Hello Mike,
Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!
Based on your description, the email address is currently associated with a Google sign-in credential. Even if the user is removed and re-invited, Microsoft Advertising may continue to recognize that email address as being linked to the existing Google-authenticated identity.
To use Sign in with Microsoft, the user must sign in with a Microsoft account that uses the same email address or an email address that has been added as a sign-in alias to a Microsoft account.
You may want to verify the following:
- Confirm whether the user's work email already has an associated Microsoft account.
- Have the user attempt to sign in directly at https://account.microsoft.com using the work email address.
- If no Microsoft account exists for that email address, the user may need to create a Microsoft account using the same email address, remove the user from the Microsoft Advertising account, and then re-invite the user after the Microsoft account has been created before being able to use the Sign in with Microsoft option.
- If the email address is already linked to an existing Google-authenticated Microsoft Advertising user profile, additional account-level changes may be required.
If the issue persists, could you please provide the following information:
- The affected user's email address (please do not share any passwords).
- The exact error message displayed during sign-in.
- Whether the affected user is a standard user or an administrator.
- A screen recording from the moment the user begins the sign-in process until the error message or issue is displayed.
Once we have this information, we will be happy to investigate further and determine the appropriate next steps.
