Hi,

I recently updated Xcode to latest version - 27. However, the current .NET iOS workload does not appear to support this version yet. While building my project, I received the following error -

"This version of .NET for iOS (26.5.10318) requires Xcode 26.6. The current version of Xcode is 27.0. Either install Xcode 26.6, or use a different version of .NET for iOS."

I would like to know:

  • Is there an expected timeline for when .NET iOS will support Xcode 27?

For context:

  • .NET SDK version: 10.0.401
  • iOS workload: 26.5.10318
  • Development environment: Rider on macOS

Any guidance or updates would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Each release of the Maui build tools are tied to a version of Xcode. You will need to wait for another release of Maui to get Xcode 27. In the mean time you need to reinstall Xcode 26 (Google for instructions for side by side if you want). Probably the Maui 11 release next month will support Xcode 27 and the iOS 27 sdk.

Update (Sep 29): .NET 10 support for Xcode 27 has now been released. You can now update your .NET for iOS workload to use Xcode 27. Please note that Xcode 27.0 is required for this release.

The options below are now historical guidance; please refer to them only if you need to stay on the older workload.

Hello @Jermin Contractor , and thank you for your question.

At this time, there is no publicly announced timeline for stable .NET for iOS support for Xcode 27. However, you can follow the Xcode 27.0 tracking issuefor updates on the current progress, or check out the .NET for iOS release list for the latest updates.

For your issue, there are two possible options:

    1. Use Xcode 26.6 - which is the supported version for your current .NET for iOS workload.
    2. Use the .NET 10 preview support for Xcode 27 - although please note that this is preview support and currently requires Xcode 27.0 Beta 6. For a stable and supported environment with your current workload, Xcode 26.6 is recommended.

If you found my response helpful or informative, I would greatly appreciate it if you could follow this guide for your confirmation. Thank you.
