Microsoft Rewards and Email change related.

A new Microsoft account will not keep the same Microsoft Rewards points or account history. Rewards points are tied to the existing Microsoft account, and creating a new account or switching to a different account will not transfer those points.

The supported way to keep the same account is to add a new email address as an alias on the existing Microsoft account, then use that alias to sign in. That keeps the same account, so the account’s existing data stays with it. To do that:

1. Sign in to Edit account info at https://account.live.com/names/manage.
2. Select Add email.
3. Follow the prompts to add the new email address.
4. After that, the new alias can be used to sign in to Microsoft services.

If access still cannot be recovered, use the Microsoft account recovery process. Before filling out the recovery form, Microsoft recommends trying the Sign-in Helper first. The recovery form requires a working email account that can be accessed, and Microsoft reviews the answers and responds within 24 hours.

Important limits:

• If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods can be accessed, support agents cannot reset the account or change account details.
• Support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.
