Microsoft Software update wiped out my PC, my memory's wiped out. I own a Lenovo, and it's only 2 year plus old. My Lenovo technician says the crash is caused by Microsoft software update.

    Hello,

    Usually, this happens if your user profile is corrupted and you have logged into the 'temporary' user profile.

    Try restarting your PC a couple of times (4 -5 times) and see whether it restores your user profile along with all of your system data. If you are still stuck in the temporary user profile,

    1. Go to Local disk C:/ Users.
    2. Do you see two user profiles with the same username?
    3. Open any of the Users folders and see whether all of your files are located there.

    If you find your files there, make sure you don't copy all of your files to the Temporary profile.

    • Then, create a new profile with admin privileges.
    • Copy all of your files to the new Admin profile.

    If the files are missing, here are the other places you can check -

    1. Check your desktop Recycle Bin folder (OR)
    2. Visit https://onedrive.live.com/ and see if all of your files are backed up to OneDrive Cloud. Also, check the OneDrive recycle bin.
