When I registered my microsoft account in the year 2015, I put my birthday wrongly as 2015 (actually I was born in the year 1960). THerefore I have been treated as a child at Microsoft account. How can I change it? or how can I contact the microsoft account team to help to change it?

If Microsoft is treating the account as a child account, the birth date cannot be changed directly from that account. The supported way to correct it is through parental consent flow or by using the adult account that granted consent.

    1. First, check the account profile at https://account.microsoft.com/profile/edit-profile-information.
      • If the profile opens and the birth date can be edited, update it there and select Save.
      • If the profile opens but the birth date cannot be edited, use the does have consent steps below.
      • If sign-in shows "Parent or guardian consent is required for this account", use the does not have consent steps below.
    2. If the account does not have consent:
      • Sign in to https://login.live.com to start a consent request.
      • Select I'm a parent or guardian.
      • Sign in with any adult personal Microsoft account, or create a new adult account if needed.
      • Select Yes, I agree on the consent form.
      • Select Family Safety to complete the process.
      • Go to https://account.live.com/mykids.aspx.
      • For the affected account, select Edit this child's personal info and follow the prompts to correct the birth date.
    3. If the account does already have consent:
    4. Important limits:
      • A child account cannot remove its own consent or change its own birth date while it is classed as under the statutory age.
      • If the child account is not listed under the adult account, that adult does not have permission to edit it. Another adult account may have granted consent.
      • Parents must be at least 18 years old, except in Canada where they must be at least 19.
    5. If sign-in or consent issues block access:
      • Use the Sign-in helper.
      • For technical support, use Contact Microsoft Support. Support can guide the process, but support agents are not allowed to access or change account details directly.
