I recently upgraded my cpu from an athlon 3000g to the ryzen 5 5600x to upgrade my cpu i also did a bios update. I just recently upgraded it and while i was using my pc yesterday windows was still activated but when i turned on my pc today it seems to have been deactivated. I ran the troubleshooter but all it tells me is that it couldnt find a device that can be used for reactivating clicking on see other devices linked to this microsoft account just tells me we cant reactivate windows on this device. my windows license was a windows pro digital license connected to my account so i have no product key to enter. the settings tell me the error code : 0xC004F211 while the slmgr /ato gives me error code: 0x803F7001. i checked the devices linked to my account in the microsoft website and theres 2 instances of my pc in the device list.

    Hi Brick D,

Based on the information provided, it appears the activation issue may be related to how the hardware change was recognized after the CPU upgrade and BIOS update. Since your Microsoft account still shows the device, but the Activation Troubleshooter cannot find an eligible device to reactivate, the license association may not be syncing correctly with the current hardware configuration.

You can try the following additional checks:

    1. Sign out of Windows, then sign back in with the same Microsoft account that previously held the digital license.
    2. Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run: slmgr /dlv
      • Verify that the installed edition is Windows 11 Pro and note the licensing status.
    3. In Microsoft Account > Devices, remove any duplicate entries for the PC if they clearly represent the same device, then restart and run the Activation Troubleshooter again.
    4. Ensure the system date, time, and time zone are correct, then check for Windows updates and restart the device.

If activation still cannot locate an eligible device, the next step would be to contact Microsoft Support for a manual review of the digital license association. Be prepared to provide proof of ownership and details of the hardware upgrade to help them verify the license.
