2026-09-11T21:11:48.25+00:00

Hi there I seem to be having issues moving grouped files from 1 folder to another inside onedrive? I can select 1 photo at a time and the move here button is activated but when I select more than 1 it is not?? I have refreshed the page and closed and reopened it but still only allowing 1 file to move at a time? I have multiple files that I want to move to another folder but can't be working with 1 photo at a time. what is happening? I have done this before but since my last microsoft update this morning this is like a bug that won't allow me to do this! Please help

Hi Envy 3d Landscape Design Jeff,

Based on your description, OneDrive is still recognizing individual file moves, but the Move here option becomes unavailable when multiple files are selected. Since you were able to do this previously and the behavior started after a recent update, it may be related to the current OneDrive web session, browser cache, or the way the selected items are being grouped.

You can try the following quick checks:

    1. Open OneDrive in an InPrivate/Incognito browser window and test moving multiple files.
    2. Try a different browser to determine whether the issue is browser-specific.
    3. Switch the folder view from grouped to a standard list view, then reselect the files and try the move again.
    4. If the files are synced locally, try moving them through File Explorer within your OneDrive folder as a temporary workaround.

If the issue continues across multiple browsers and views, please let me know:

    • Whether you're using OneDrive on the web or File Explorer.
    • Whether the affected items are all regular files/photos or if any are shortcuts, shared items, or located in different folders.

That information can help narrow down the cause and identify the next troubleshooting steps.
