I changed my password on an imap email account, but can't find anywhere to update it in New Outlook, Microsoft 365 Outlook. The MANAGE button for that imap email account does not allow updating passwords.

Hi @Jenny Boyd

In New Outlook, the Manage option for an IMAP account does not always provide a field to manually update the stored password.

If you recently changed the password with your email provider, first check whether Outlook prompts you to sign in again. If it does, enter the new password there.

If it does not prompt you, the most reliable way to refresh the credentials is:

Open Settings → Accounts → Email accounts

Select the IMAP account

Click Manage

Remove the account

Restart New Outlook

Add the account again using the new password

Before removing it, make sure you know the correct IMAP/SMTP server settings for your email provider.

Also, if your provider uses two-factor authentication, you may need an app password instead of your normal account password.

Removing an IMAP account from Outlook does not normally delete mail stored on the mail server, but any locally stored or non-synchronized data should be backed up first.

If the account still fails after being added again, please let us know which email provider you are using and whether the error mentions an app password or authentication failure.
