My Win 11 Dell EBT2250 burps( Farts) when playing video's, usually musical video's and usually most often at the beginning of the video. I've tried most things. What is the problem?

That symptom usually points to an audio driver, audio format, or audio enhancement issue rather than the video itself.

    Try this in order:

    1. Turn off audio enhancements
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Output, select the device being used.
      • Scroll to Advanced settings and set Audio enhancements to Off.
      • Test the same video again.
    2. Run the audio troubleshooter
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      • In Audio, select Run.
    3. Check that the correct output device is selected
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Output, confirm the intended speakers are selected.
      • If needed, open More sound settings > Playback, right-click the correct device, and select Set as default.
    4. Try a different audio format
      • Search for Control Panel and open it.
      • Select Hardware and Sound > Sound.
      • On the Playback tab, right-click the default device and select Properties.
      • Open the Advanced tab.
      • Change Default Format, select OK, and test playback. If needed, try another format.
    5. Restart Windows Audio services
      • Search for Services and open it.
      • Restart these services:
        • Windows Audio
        • Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
        • Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
    6. Update the audio driver
      • First use Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • If no newer driver is installed, open Device Manager.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the audio device and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
    7. Reinstall the audio driver
      • In Device Manager, right-click the audio device under Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Select Uninstall device.
      • Restart the PC so Windows reinstalls the driver.
      • This can temporarily remove sound until restart completes.
    8. If the device shows IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
      • In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • If IDT High Definition Audio CODEC appears, select Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
      • Select High Definition Audio Device and continue.

For a Dell system, if the issue started after a Windows 11 update, Windows may have replaced the Dell audio driver with a generic one. In that case, reinstalling the latest Dell audio driver package is often the next step after the Windows troubleshooting above.

    Hi Kitchen PC,

Have you had a chance to try the steps in the AI Answer? If so, please let me know which steps you completed and whether any of them changed the popping sound.

As an additional check, try playing the same video in another browser or media player, then compare the built-in speakers with wired or Bluetooth headphones. Please also note whether the sound occurs when pausing, resuming, skipping or adjusting the volume. This can help determine whether the issue is limited to the internal speakers, a particular application, or the overall audio system.

Since this is a Dell computer, I also recommend running the speaker diagnostic in SupportAssist and checking Dell website for any available audio, chipset, BIOS or firmware updates for your exact model.

Please also share your Windows version and build by pressing Windows key + R, typing winver and pressing Enter.

Kindly update me with the results when you have a chance and I will be glad to advise further based on what you find.
