Hello

We need help configuring Microsoft Teams so that selected organizer accounts automatically record and transcribe every scheduled Teams meeting they create.

Our requirements are:

We want to use only Microsoft’s native Teams recording and transcription features.
We do not want to use a third-party recording or compliance platform.
The selected organizers will have the required Microsoft 365 and Teams Premium licenses.
We want to identify the organizers by their Microsoft 365 email addresses or an Entra ID security group.
When one of these organizers creates a normal Teams meeting manually in Teams or Outlook, recording and transcription should start automatically when the meeting begins.
The organizer should not need to click “Record” or select “Record and transcribe automatically” for every meeting.
We want to retrieve the recording and transcript through Microsoft Graph and save them in a central SharePoint library.

Could you please confirm:

Is this officially supported using only Teams, Teams Premium, Microsoft Graph, Azure Functions/Logic Apps, and SharePoint?
Does the Teams meeting policy setting AutoRecording force recording on, or does it only make the option available?
Can a Teams Premium meeting template be applied automatically to every normal meeting created in Teams or Outlook?

Based on your description, I understand that you would like meetings to automatically start recording and generating a transcript as soon as the meeting begins. Afterward, this data will be stored in SharePoint.

At this time, there is no policy available that can enforce all Microsoft Teams meetings to automatically enable recording and transcription.

Instead, to automatically enable recording and transcription, you need to create a Meeting Template in Microsoft Teams.

Once the template has been created, the meeting organizer must use that template when scheduling a meeting so that recording and transcription are automatically enabled.

To assign a Meeting Template to users, those users must have a Teams Premium license, which aligns with the information you mentioned in your post.

To create a Teams Meeting Template, follow these steps:

In the Teams Admin Center, expand Meetings and select Meeting templates.

Select Add.

Enter a name and description for the template. The name and description will be truncated after 40 characters when displayed in Teams; however, users can still view the full text by hovering over it.

Select the options that you want to apply to the template (refer to the official documentation for details about each option).

If you want to prevent meeting organizers from changing an option, select the option and choose Lock.

If you want to hide an option from meeting organizers, select the option and choose Hide.

Select Save to save the configuration.

After creating the template, it may take up to 24 hours for users to see it in Teams.

If you modify the settings of an existing template, the changes will apply to:

New meetings scheduled using that template.

Meetings that were previously scheduled using the same template.

After creating the template, assign it to the users who will be using it.

I have seen on your documentations that the __**Sensitivity label (Purview admin), would enbale this authomatically, the idea why I want to set automated recrodings only for some users is to reduce the manual friction and to have a way of setting it automatically for selected users. I am wondering if we could do it via the Sensitivity Label.
