after two days of testing all things, local windows 11 health of all apps and files, firewall and defender settings, found the issue with Apply Music, iTunes, Apple TV and all come down to one thing, Apple music can sign in online, but not on the app on Windows 11, I have posted this on apple site also and got a thumbs up from apple but Microsoft needs to also be aware

The issue is apple is fine but the exchange fails with Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll

Version 3.1.8.0 this is on windows 11 25H2 version OS build 26200.9445

the exchange of info with apple music and Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll fails every time, maybe a timeout or something

This has been tested with different profiles and removing security and making sure all are up to date, this is a world wide issue with no fix from Microsoft or Apple yet.

APPLE MUSIC SIGN IN TROUBLESHOOTING SUMMARY

Issue

Apple Music installs and opens normally on Windows 11.

Apple ID and password are accepted in the sign in process.

No error message is displayed.

Apple Music remains signed out after authentication.

System Configuration

Windows 11 running under a Local Account.

Microsoft Store signed in with Microsoft account.

Apple ID signs in successfully through the Apple website.

Apple Music installed from Microsoft Store.

Actions Completed

reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Clients"

Returned key not found.

Folder check confirmed:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView

exists.

Downloaded WebView2 Runtime installer.

Installer reported:

"The Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is already installed for the system."

Assessment:

WebView2 is installed and operational.

Unlikely to be root cause.

App Package Re-registration

Executed:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Results:

Microsoft Wallet package reported as end of life.

Weather package reported as in use.

Assessment:

Expected behaviour.

No indication these errors relate to Apple Music.

Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll Investigation

Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll is part of Microsoft's Windows App SDK and Store app framework.

Apple Music and many Store applications depend on these components.

Potential symptoms of a damaged Microsoft.UI.Xaml environment include:

Store apps opening but not functioning correctly.

Authentication windows failing silently.

Sign in operations completing without errors but not being retained.

Unexpected Store application behaviour.

Current Status

Confirmed:

Apple ID works online.

Microsoft Store account works.

WebView2 is installed.

Apple Music installs correctly.

No Apple Music crashes detected.

No Apple Music specific application errors found.

Most Likely Remaining Causes

Store identity authentication issue.

Windows Local Account interaction with Store authentication.

Microsoft.UI.Xaml or Windows App SDK component issue.

User profile corruption affecting Store applications.

Next Planned Test

Convert Windows login from Local Account to Microsoft Account.

Reboot.

Open Microsoft Store and confirm account is connected.

Launch Apple Music and attempt sign in.

Expected Outcome

If Apple Music signs in successfully after using a Microsoft Account for Windows login, the issue is likely related to Windows identity authentication.

If the problem remains, investigation should focus on Microsoft.UI.Xaml components, Windows App SDK packages, or user profile corruption.

    Hi Peter Farrar,

Based on the information shared, it appears the issue is not related to your Apple ID credentials or the Apple Music installation itself. Your testing indicates that authentication succeeds on Apple's website, but the sign-in state is not being retained within the Windows app. The most notable finding was a Microsoft Store authentication event (WinStore.Identity.AuthenticationException) along with potential interaction between Store authentication components and Windows app framework dependencies.

As a next step, try the following:

    1. Sign in to Windows using a Microsoft account instead of a local account.
    2. Restart the PC.
    3. Open Microsoft Store and verify the account is signed in correctly.
    4. Launch Apple Music and attempt to sign in again.

If the issue persists after switching to a Microsoft account, consider testing from a newly created Windows user profile to help determine whether the behavior is profile-specific. The investigation in the thread also suggests that Store identity components or Windows App SDK components may warrant further review if the problem continues.
