Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Yes. A personal Microsoft account can be created by using an existing email address from another provider, such as Gmail or Yahoo, instead of creating a new Outlook.com address.
To do that:
- Start account creation by selecting Create an account.
- Enter the external email address to use as the Microsoft account username.
- Create a password and continue through the setup steps.
- Verify the email address with the code sent to that mailbox.
If a Microsoft account already exists and a different external email address needs to be used with it, that address can be added as an alias:
- Sign in to the Microsoft account how you sign in page.
- Select Add email.
- Follow the prompts to add the external email address.
If the goal is to use that third-party mailbox inside Outlook, the email account can also be added to Outlook separately.
