Xbox Mode's forced Task View integration is deeply broken and driving PC gamers back to Steam.

I was incredibly excited about the promise of Windows 11's new native Xbox Mode. Having library aggregation integrated directly into the OS shell sounded like a great alternative to third-party frontends like Playnite or Steam Big Picture.

Unfortunately, the execution is completely ruined by forcing it into a package deal with Task View. Simply moving a mouse cursor near the taskbar perimeter or right-clicking standard system tray elements (like the audio mixer) triggers unwanted Task View popups. Even worse, toggling off "Show Xbox mode in Task View" in the Gaming settings doesn't actually stop the shell from bugging out. The only way to save basic desktop mouse/taskbar navigation is to completely turn off Xbox Mode.

Gamepad users shouldn't have to choose between a broken desktop environment and a console interface. Until Microsoft decouples Xbox Mode from these aggressive Task View shell hooks, Steam Big Picture mode remains the only viable, seamless way to play. Please give us a dedicated toggle to completely separate these features.
