Additional settings-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
If Settings and more is missing, use these supported paths in Teams to update or verify the app version:
- Open Teams.
- Go to Settings and more > Settings > About Teams.
- Under Version, check whether Update now appears.
If the app is not updating automatically, these are the documented causes and workaround:
- Teams updates only when it is idle.
- The user must be signed in for updates to download.
- If Teams was installed in Program Files instead of the default location, it may not auto-update.
- The documented workaround is to install Teams in the default location:
user\Appdata. - To force Teams to check for updates, select the avatar in the upper-right corner of Teams, then select Check for updates.
If the menu path in the instructions does not match what is visible, first confirm the installed version from Settings > About Teams and update from there if Update now is available.
