    Hi Kelly,

Thank you for providing the details and screenshot.

The error “Cannot paste this image. Try different source” indicates that Teams can detect the image on the clipboard but cannot process it in Chrome. Since screenshot pasting works with your other account in Edge, the issue is most likely related to cached Teams data, a browser extension, or a policy associated with the affected work account.

To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Clear browsing data
    • At the top right, select More > Delete browsing data.
    • Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time.
    • Select Cookies and other site data.
    • Check other items you want to delete.
    • To confirm, select Delete data.

Delete browsing data X Time range Last hour > Browsing history 22 items. Includes autocompletions in the address bar. Download history None Cookies and other site data From 41 sites. Signs you out of most sites. Cached images and files Frees up less than 320 MB. Some sites may load more slowly on your next visit. Passwords None Autofill form data (includes forms and cards) This will clear your data across all your synced devices signed in to To clear browsing data from this device only, sign out first. 1. Test in an Incognito window
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+N to open an Incognito window.
    • Go to https://teams.microsoft.com.
    • Sign in with the affected work account.
    • Take a new screenshot and try to paste it.
    1. Copy the screenshot through Paint
    • Take a screenshot using Windows+Shift+S.
    • Open Microsoft Paint.
    • Press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot into Paint.
    • Press Ctrl+A to select the entire image.
    • Press Ctrl+C to copy the image again.
    • Return to the Teams chat in Chrome and press Ctrl+V.

I hope your issue gets resolved soon. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.

Since one account works in Edge and the other fails in Chrome, the most likely issue is clipboard permission in Chrome for the Teams site.

Try this in Chrome for the affected Teams account:

    1. Open Teams in Chrome.
    2. Select the View site information button in the address bar.
    3. Locate Clipboard.
    4. Turn clipboard access On for the site.

If the Teams experience is running through an Office.com application page and Chrome shows No clipboard access, Chrome may be blocking Cut-Copy-Paste functionality for that site.

For Teams chat, these supported paste methods are available:

    • Paste with Ctrl+V.
    • If needed for links without formatting, use Ctrl+Shift+V.
    • On mobile, Teams also supports attaching a picture with the Photo icon or attaching a file from the Attach option.

If pasting still fails in Chrome after allowing clipboard access, use the Teams web experience in Edge as a workaround, since that account already accepts pasted images there.
