I have been recieving bills for an old Azure account that I believed was no longer in use that I had with either a prior employer linked email or school linked email. They are sending me past due bills and I have no way of contacting Microsoft support to assist with this issue. It is very frustrating as I would like to cancel the account and resolve any payment issues ASAP. Please assist.

I called the the Billing and Support phone number at 1-800-865-9408, it was automated and would not transfer me to a human. The prompts were not enclusive of this issue and eventually it let me go. When I called back it directed me to the online support portal which has been unable to help me. Can someone please call me, its very odd that any company would bill direct for services that are unauthorized and then present a maze in order to rectify/route to a human to help.

    Hello @Ryan D

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Support Team, and we understand for your frustration this situation has caused.

If you are receiving invoices for an old Azure account that was associated with a previous employer or school email address, and you no longer have access to that account, the best approach is to work directly with Microsoft Billing Support so they can locate the subscription and review the charges.

To help investigate the account, please gather any information available from the invoice emails, such as:

    • Invoice number
    • Billing account number (if listed)
    • Email address receiving the invoices
    • Copies or screenshots of the billing notifications

You can then contact Microsoft Billing Support through the Azure Support and Billing channels. Azure billing support is available at no additional cost and can assist with identifying the subscription, reviewing outstanding charges, updating billing details, and cancelling any active services if appropriate.

If you are unable to access the Azure account because it is tied to a former work or school email address, please inform the billing team (https://support.microsoft.com/contactus )of this during your support request. They can guide you through the account verification process and help determine the available recovery options.

Once Microsoft can verify ownership of the billing account, they will be able to assist with resolving the outstanding balance and preventing any future charges.
