Using Outlook for iOS for personal email and calendar management
If this is an Outlook.com home account, check these items in Outlook.com first to determine whether mail is being delivered but hidden or blocked:
- Check storage.
- If Microsoft cloud storage is full, mail cannot be sent or received.
- Go to mailbox storage and confirm it is not full.
- Check where messages may be landing.
- Open Junk Email and move any valid message back with Mark as not junk.
- Check the Other tab if Focused Inbox is enabled.
- Check Deleted Items, Archive, and any custom folders.
- Make sure the message list is sorted by Filter > Sort > Date.
- Check mailbox settings that can redirect mail.
- Review Settings > Mail > Rules and disable any rule moving or deleting incoming mail.
- Review Settings > Mail > Forwarding and confirm forwarding is off unless intentionally enabled.
- Review Junk Email settings and blocked senders.
- Check account access.
- If the password was changed recently, update it.
- If the account was temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity, follow the account unblock process.
- Send a fresh test message from another email account.
- If it does not arrive anywhere in the mailbox, ask the sender whether they received a non-delivery report.
- If the problem happens on only one mobile device, remove the partnership between that device and the mailbox, then sync again.
If legitimate mail is still not arriving after these checks, use Outlook.com support from the web:
- Sign in to Outlook.com.
- Select the Help icon.
- Search for cannot receive emails.
- Scroll to Still need help? and select Yes.
- Choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
