Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
If classic Outlook is only showing the last 90 days, increase the local sync window so older mail is downloaded:
- Open classic Outlook.
- Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
- On the Email tab, select the account.
- Select Change.
- Move Download email for the past: to a longer period or all the way to All.
- Select Next > Done.
- Restart Outlook.
If older messages were archived, also check the Archive folder. In classic Outlook, AutoArchive can move older items to an archive file automatically. AutoArchive is configured under File > Options > Advanced > AutoArchive Settings.
Important:
- AutoArchive is not available in new Outlook for Windows.
- Archive and AutoArchive might not be available if the profile connects to Exchange Server, and an organization retention policy can override AutoArchive.
- In classic Outlook search, older items may not appear in search if they are outside the current sync range until more mail is downloaded locally.
