Honestly, I've tried everything - different computers, changing password. The microsoft account stays logged in fine - just the xbox account that kicks him out within a second.

    Hello Tony Wilson,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Before we proceed further, may I know if it shows any message before your son is logged out? Also, may I know if the same issue happens when you try to log into the Xbox website?

    I'm waiting for your reply.

Hello, You tried everything? Well that would leave me with nothing to tell you. I think it is kicking you off because of the controller. You can assign a controller to an Xbox account. That is my guess why it is kicking him off because the controller is set to a different account. Worst case scenario you are looking at resetting the Xbox. But that means you will lose the game saves on the Xbox. That is the last resort method. Instructions how to pair Xbox controller with profile listed below.

    --

    • Press the Xbox button on your controller.
    • Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.
    • Select your device and click the More options icon (…).
    • Choose Assigned to and pick the profile you want to link.
    • Select This controller signs in if you want turning on the pad to log you in automatically.

Okie Hopefully this is the answer.

    • Wait I just thought of some thing after rereading the question:

Prob not the answer you want to hear but:

Oh Sorry this is on a computer. I wonder if his account got banned from xbox live.

Log into the site I posted and check for an xbox live ban

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/family-online-safety/enforcement/enforcement-history

You can still use your MS services normally but can not use your xbox account, All most sounds like a banned account. Good news is most of the time the first ban is not forever. Fingers crossed its not a life ban. or a ban at all.

I seen people get banned by the AI bot for a thumbs up as there profile photo.
