    Hello Ahmed danish haiqal

Has the answer provided by AI able to help you solve this issue?

Since AI assist already posted cover repair well, so here is what to do in case repair does not fix it:

First check which install type you have, because the removal steps differ:

    • Open any Office app, select File, then Account, then About.
    • Look for the words Click-to-Run or Microsoft Store next to the version and build number.

    Then uninstall and reinstall:

    • For Click-to-Run, open Control Panel, select Programs, then Programs and features, select your Microsoft 365 product and choose Uninstall.
    • If that fails or leaves it broken, run the uninstall troubleshooter from the Uninstall Microsoft 365 or Office from a PC page. It needs Windows 10 or higher and cannot remove Office 2024.
    • Restart the PC when prompted, then reinstall from Install or reinstall Office on a PC.

Uninstalling only removes the applications. It does not delete any documents or workbooks you created, so your files stay where they are.

This usually happens for one of these reasons:

    • Office installation files are damaged or corrupted.
    • An add-in is preventing Word or Excel from starting correctly.
    • Office is out of date.
    • Older Windows device drivers are incompatible with Office.

A practical way to identify the cause is:

    1. Update Office
      • Open any Office app if possible.
      • Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    2. Test Safe Mode
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type winword /safe for Word or excel /safe for Excel, then press Enter.
      • If the app opens in Safe Mode, the problem is likely an add-in.
    3. Disable add-ins if Safe Mode works
      • In the app, go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
      • In Manage, choose the add-in type and select Go.
      • Clear one add-in, select OK, then restart the app normally.
      • Repeat one by one to find the problematic add-in.
      • Older add-ins such as ABBYY FineReader and Dragon Naturally Speaking are known to cause issues.
    4. Repair Office
      • In Windows, open Apps and Features or Installed apps.
      • Select Microsoft 365 or Office > Modify.
      • Try Quick Repair first.
      • If that does not fix it, use Online Repair. This is the more complete repair option.
    5. Update Windows
      • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install available updates.

If Word or Excel still will not open after Safe Mode and repair, the issue is more likely with the Office installation or system drivers than with the documents themselves.
