Im trying to get the total cost for getting a few of our users into Teams phone licensing.

What I need is the users are able to make national and international calls from Teams and I need to know the cost.

As far as I know, I need Teams Phone Standard license, can you quote it for me?

Can you advise what else is needed, Microsoft calling plans or…? This would be for Mexico.

    Hi Gee, Su

For Teams Phone in Mexico, the exact cost depends on how you want to connect to the PSTN (public telephone network) and whether you want Microsoft to provide the phone numbers and calling service.

Teams Phone Standard is the core add-on that enables telephony features in Microsoft Teams (PBX capabilities, voicemail, call queues, auto attendants, call transfer, etc.). Microsoft currently lists Teams Phone Standard at approximately USD $10/user/month (annual commitment).

To make and receive external phone calls, you also need a PSTN connectivity option. In Mexico, the supported options are:

    • Microsoft Calling Plans (Microsoft provides the telephone numbers and calling service)
    • Operator Connect (a certified telecom carrier provides the service)
    • Direct Routing (your own SBC/carrier integration)

Microsoft documents these as the available Teams Phone PSTN connectivity options.

If you prefer the Microsoft-managed solution, Mexico has dedicated Calling Plan offerings, including:

    • Pay-As-You-Go Calling Plan (Mexico)
    • Domestic Calling Plan (Mexico)
    • Domestic & International Calling Plan (Mexico)

For users who need both national and international calling, the most straightforward option is:

Microsoft Teams Phone Standard + Microsoft Domestic & International Calling Plan (Mexico).

Please note that users must also have a qualifying Microsoft Teams or Microsoft 365 license assigned, as Teams Phone is an add-on and not a standalone product.

I hope this information helpful and if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask via comment section.
