When downloading multiple files from microsoft teams as a ZIP file, some files are randomly missing from the downloaded ZIP. The files can be downloaded individually without any issues (there are 25 files in total), but bulk downloads consistently fail to include some files. Is there any way to resolve this issue?

Hi B Henry

Based on the information you have provided, this issue appears to occur during the process of generating a compressed (.zip) download package in Microsoft Teams. As a result, some files may not be included in the ZIP file and are instead listed under The following files/folders have not been downloaded

Teams uses SharePoint and OneDrive services for file storage, and similar behavior has been reported during bulk download operations.

To better understand the situation, could you please share some information:

  • Does the issue occur only when downloading files from Teams, or does the same behavior occur when downloading the same files directly from SharePoint Online? Download files and folders from OneDrive or SharePoint | Microsoft Support
  • Can the files listed under "The following files/folders have not been downloaded" be downloaded successfully when selected individually?
  • Are the files excluded from the ZIP package always the same, or does the list of missing files change with each download attempt?
  • Approximately how many files are included in the download package, and what is the total size of the selected content?

As an initial troubleshooting step, please try downloading one of the affected files individually. If individual downloads succeed but specific files are omitted only when downloading as a ZIP package, this information will help narrow the investigation toward the ZIP package generation process, file limitations, or service-side download processing behavior.

I hope this helps and look forward to your response.
