why did Windows 8.1 apps carry over to when i upgraded to windows 10?

i installed windows 8.1 for fun on my PC and then upgraded to Windows 10, and some reason (weird huh?) some MSN apps remained??

    If you performed an in-place upgrade to Windows 10, that process does not affect your files, settings or installed apps, if you do not need the MSN apps, or if they are no longer working because they have been deprecated a long time ago, you can uninstall those apps from the Settings app.
