Try these steps in order on the Windows PC:
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Windows 11: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices and confirm Bluetooth is on.
- Windows 10: Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and confirm Bluetooth is on.
- Make sure the device is ready to pair.
- Turn the Bluetooth device on.
- Make sure it is discoverable.
- Confirm it has charge or fresh batteries and is close to the PC.
- If it is sluggish or unresponsive, move it away from USB 3.0 devices, which can interfere with Bluetooth.
- Change Bluetooth discovery so more device types appear.
- Windows 11: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices > under Device settings > Bluetooth devices discovery, select Advanced.
- Windows 10: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & other devices > More Bluetooth options > Options tab > check Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC.
- Check that airplane mode is off.
- Windows 11: open the taskbar quick settings and make sure Airplane mode is off.
- Windows 10: Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode > turn it off.
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on.
- In Bluetooth settings, turn Bluetooth off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- Try pairing again.
- Turn on the Bluetooth device and make it discoverable.
- On the PC, select the Network, Sound, or Battery icon on the taskbar.
- Select the Manage Bluetooth devices chevron on the Bluetooth quick setting.
- Select the device under New devices and complete the prompts.
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.
- In Windows, open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run Bluetooth.
- On supported systems, the Get Help Bluetooth troubleshooter can also run diagnostics automatically.
- Update the Bluetooth driver.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Restart the PC if prompted.
- If devices still do not appear or connect, remove and reinstall the adapter.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device > Uninstall.
- Shut down the PC, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- If Windows does not reinstall it automatically, open Device Manager and select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- If the Bluetooth icon is missing or Bluetooth is not listed normally in Device Manager, install the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC manufacturer.
