Hello Steven Cowan
I understand that audio is not working on your PC right now, please try these steps to see if it fixes:
- Run the Audio troubleshooters:
- Open windows settings (Windows + I) > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Run the audio troubleshooters
- Check to see if your PC recognized your headset:
- Open Device manager (Windows + X) > click Audio inputs and outputs and look for your headset name to see if it present
- If not, click View > Show hidden devices
- Check Windows Audio service:
- Open Run dialogue (Windows + R) > input services.msc > Enter > Look for Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and make sure status is running, if the status shows different, right click it then choose Start
- Update your Driver:
- Open Device Manager (Windows + X) > Sound, video and game controllers
- Right-click your audio device/headset if showing
- Update driver
