I have multiple folders and sub folders in Legacy Outlook on my Apple MacBook Pro. How can i transfer them to the current version or Outlook?

I have been running into a brick wall and I just spent over an hour waiting for Microsoft tech support. I was disconnected before anyone connected to me.

    Hi Household Hebig,

I understand that you have several folders and subfolders in legacy Outlook for Mac and that your previous attempt to reach support was disconnected.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access your Outlook profile or transfer the folders for you.

If the folders appear directly under your email account, first update Outlook through Help > Check for Updates, and then turn off the Legacy Outlook switch. These server-based folders should synchronize automatically in the current Outlook, so you normally do not need to move them individually.

If the folders are under On My Computer, they are stored only on the Mac rather than on the mail server. Before making further changes, create an archive in legacy Outlook by selecting Tools > Export, choose the items to include, and save the resulting .olm file as a backup. Do not remove the legacy Outlook profile until you have confirmed that all required folders and messages are available.

Since the previous support attempt was disconnected, you can try contacting Microsoft Support again as follows:

    1. Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the search bar provided on the page, type "Outlook issue" and press Enter.
    3. Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.
    4. Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.
    5. When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".
    6. For the category, choose "Outlook".
    7. Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
    8. Confirm your personal email when prompted - this is the email Microsoft will use to communicate with you during and after the support session.
    9. Explain your situation clearly: Be concise but provide all the relevant details.

The contact options displayed can depend on the account, product, and available support channel. If browser-based support disconnects again, open Outlook for Mac and select Help > Contact Support. The in-app procedure is documented in Contact support within Outlook for Mac.

I hope one of these support routes helps you complete the transfer while keeping the locally stored folders protected.
