I am trying to determine who is the owner of an outlook calendar, so that I can request to be added as an editor. How can I see who the owner is?

Hi, @Wensman, Jeff

Outlook does not always show the owner of a shared calendar directly.

First, check how the calendar was added. If it was shared with you by email, search your Inbox for the original calendar sharing invitation. That normally identifies the person who shared it.

If this is a work or school Microsoft 365 calendar, your Microsoft 365/Exchange administrator may also be able to identify the calendar owner.

To help narrow this down:

Is this a personal Outlook.com account, or a work/school account?
How did this calendar appear in Outlook: was it shared with you, added from a directory, or added using an Internet/ICS link?
When you right-click the calendar name, what options do you see?

I am working in a work environment. the calendar in question was not sent to me. I ended up contacting our IT department and they were able to locate the owner for me. It just seemed logical to me that I would have a way to find this myself.

That makes sense. In a work environment, Outlook does not always expose the owner of a shared or organizational calendar to other users. In some cases, only your Microsoft 365/Exchange administrator can check the ownership and permissions.

Glad your IT department was able to identify the owner for you.
