Using older versions of Outlook for Mac for personal email and calendar
This is usually a sorting or view issue in Outlook for Mac, especially if mail is no longer being arranged by date.
Try these steps on the Mac:
- In Outlook, go to View.
- Select Arrange By.
- Choose Date Received.
If messages are still grouped in a way that makes older mail appear first, also turn off Conversation View from the View menu and check the message list again.
If the mailbox is showing messages but not in the expected order, sorting by the message date should restore the newest messages to the top. In Outlook views, selecting the date-related column or arranging by Date Received is the relevant setting.
If the issue continues only on the Mac, the Outlook view on that device has likely changed, while the mailbox itself is still receiving current mail correctly, which matches the fact that the phone shows the newest messages normally.
