my outlook email on my i phone stopped updating . i use gmail as my email address

my email suddenly stopped updating on my i phone 15. i use a gmail account and it is updating on my computer and my i phone on my apple mail. it only is not updating on my outlook mail.

the facts are slightly different. on my i phone now, both apple mail and outlook do not have any email in them. only my gmail app has the email in it.

how does this change your answer as to what steps to take?

Since the Gmail account still updates on the computer and in Apple Mail on the same iPhone, the issue is isolated to Outlook for iOS.

Try these steps in order:

Force close Outlook and open it again.
Make sure Outlook for iOS is updated from the App Store.
Update iOS if an update is available, then restart the iPhone. Outlook for iOS is optimized for the latest two versions of iOS, and updating iOS plus restarting Outlook is recommended when the app is not syncing or responding.
In Outlook, reset the account:
- Open Outlook
- Go to Settings
- Select the Gmail account
- Choose Reset Account if that option appears
If it still does not sync, remove and add the Gmail account again in Outlook:
- Open Outlook
- Tap the profile icon
- Go to Settings
- Select the account
- Tap Delete Account
- Restart the iPhone
- Add the Gmail account back
If Outlook has been inactive for a long time, sign in again. After more than 10 days of inactivity, Outlook for iOS stops syncing until the next session, and after 30 days the account can be logged out due to inactivity.
If the problem continues, contact support from inside the app at Settings > Help & Feedback > Contact Support.

Because the same Gmail account works in Apple Mail and on the computer, this does not point to a Gmail-wide outage or an IMAP/POP calendar-contact setup issue.
