I can't open PDF attachments that come through my outlook email.

the pdf file will open saving to one drive then opening but will not open with adobe bluebeam or microsoft edge

i cannot save it to desktop only in one drive

option 4 i do not show option or trust center

the file is not blocked my office personal are able to open it normally

Hi @david nolan

Since the Trust Center option is not displayed, could you please confirm which Outlook version you are using?

Classic Outlook for Windows: You see a File tab in the upper-left corner.
New Outlook for Windows: There is no File tab, and you normally see a Settings gear icon.
Outlook on the web: You access Outlook through a web browser.

Please also let us know what happens when you select the PDF attachment, whether you receive an error message, and whether Download or Save As allows you to choose the Desktop or Downloads folder.

This information will help us provide the correct troubleshooting steps for your Outlook version.

New outlook but i even switched back to classic it makes no difference

Thank you for confirming. Could you please test the PDF attachment in Outlook on the web and let us know whether it opens or downloads successfully there? This will help us narrow down the cause.

I also can't open PDF attachments along with image attachments in New Outlook for Windows, however, I am able to view these items on Outlook on the web.

Thank you for the update. Since the attachments open correctly in Outlook on the web but not in New Outlook for Windows, this appears to be specific to the New Outlook app.

Could you confirm whether this happens with all PDF and image attachments or only certain emails?

Hi @LTurg

Thank you for confirming. Since all PDF and image attachments are affected only in New Outlook, please restart the app, install any pending Windows and Microsoft Store updates, and try downloading the attachments before opening them.

If the issue persists, please repair or reset New Outlook under Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook (new) > Advanced options and test again.

while using the web version i cannot preview or dowload attachments.

while trying to preview i get an error
"something went wrong while the document preview was being created"

while trying to download the error received is

"the request could not be completed"

@Chloe-V seems to be working now. All I did was sign out and reopen app and it's working again so? Hopefully it will continue to work ok. Thank you.
