Hi Team,

We are currently leveraging the Device Health Monitoring capabilities in Microsoft Teams Admin Center and utilizing the external webhook mechanism to proactively monitor the health and status of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Android-based Teams devices, and associated peripherals.

With the announced transition of Teams Android Device Management from the Teams Admin Center (TAC) to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal (PMP) as part of the Unified Device Management initiative (MC1227622), we would like to understand the potential impact of this change on our existing monitoring and integration capabilities.

Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/aboutunifieddevicemanagement-pmp1

Specifically, we would appreciate clarification on the following:

  1. Will the transition have any impact on the monitoring of:
    • Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android
    • Associated room peripherals and certified devices
    • Teams Phones, Teams Panels, Teams Displays, Teams Rooms accessories, and other Android-based Teams endpoints
  2. Will the existing external webhook-based device health alert mechanism continue to function and remain supported after Android device management is fully transitioned to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal for Teams Rooms on Android,Teams Phones,Teams Panels,SIP devices?
  3. Are there any planned changes to:
    • Device health alerts and notifications
    • Alert payload structure
    • Webhook subscriptions
    • Device inventory APIs
    • Device status monitoring capabilities
  4. If there is any impact to the current monitoring model, what are the recommended alternative integration options for:
    • Retrieving device inventory and device metadata
    • Monitoring device health and operational status
    • Receiving proactive alerts, warnings, and critical health notifications
    • Integrating device monitoring with third-party platforms and observability solutions
  5. Are there any new APIs, event-driven mechanisms, webhooks, Graph APIs, export capabilities, or Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal integration interfaces that customers and partners should adopt as part of their migration strategy which are GA?

We are not looking or considering option for direct ServiceNow Incident integration through the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal (PMP)(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/microsoft-teams-rooms-configure-servicenow) as direct third party platform integration with Service Now is not permissible as part of organizational policies . Instead, we would like to understand the available integration mechanisms which are GA or near GA that can be used to integrate with external monitoring and management platforms.

Specifically, we are interested in understanding whether Microsoft will continue to support or provide alternatives such as:

  • Webhook-based integrations for receiving device health alerts and notifications
  • Event-driven integration mechanisms for real-time monitoring and alerting
  • API-based integrations for retrieving device inventory, health status, and telemetry data
  • Any supported subscription, notification, or event streaming capabilities for proactive monitoring

Our objective is to ensure uninterrupted monitoring, alerting, inventory synchronization, and operational visibility across all managed Microsoft Teams devices and rooms following the transition to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal.

Any guidance on the expected impact, supported migration path, and recommended best practices would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi @Devendra Hapase

Based on the information currently published by Microsoft for MC1227622 / Roadmap 555235, the transition from Teams admin center (TAC) to the Teams Rooms Pro Management (PMP) portal is intended to move the management, inventory, and health-monitoring experience for supported Android-based Teams devices into PMP rather than remove those capabilities.

Impact on Monitoring and Operational Visibility

For Teams Rooms on Android, Teams Phones, Teams Panels, and SIP devices, Microsoft documents that device inventory, health monitoring, incident management, software updates, settings management, and remote actions are moving to the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal: Transitioning Teams Android Device Management from Teams Admin Center to the Teams Rooms Pro Manage…

    PMP provides:

    • Device inventory and metadata
    • Health signals and incident management
    • Room and device health reporting
    • Peripheral monitoring for supported Teams Rooms systems
    • Ticket history and operational reporting

    Impact on Existing Alert Integrations

Microsoft's published transition guidance does not state that existing Teams admin center Device State Rule webhooks will be automatically migrated to PMP.

The recommended monitoring integration moving forward is the Teams Rooms Pro Management Incident Notification Webhook, which supports incident-based notifications, filtering by device type, severity, room, and health signal.

Therefore, organizations currently relying on TAC webhook notifications should plan to:

    1. Validate all supported Android devices are onboarded into PMP.
    2. Configure PMP Incident Notification Webhooks.
    3. Update any downstream integrations to consume the PMP incident payload format.
    4. Test alerting workflows before TAC functionality is retired.

    Inventory Synchronization Options

Microsoft currently documents the following supported approaches:

    • PMP Inventory and Device Management views
    • Inventory export capabilities
    • Health and incident reporting exports
    • ServiceNow integration (where applicable)
    • Incident Notification Webhook for event-driven integrations

Key takeaway: Microsoft documentation confirms that monitoring and operational visibility for supported Android Teams devices continue in the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal. However, customers should not assume existing TAC webhook-based alert integrations will automatically carry forward and should validate PMP-based monitoring and webhook integrations as part of their migration plan.

    Thank you for your understanding.
