Excel hyperlink issue

I an using Excel in Microsoft 365 and believe I have stumbled across an issue that needs resolving. I have created a quite large spreadsheet that I am certain is using virtual memory. My spreadsheet contains cells that are hyperlinked to other cells by direct reference, not by assigned names. The values are updating just fine, However, when I click on the hyperlink the wrong cell is highlighted and the view screen does not jump to display the highlighted cell. While this does not cause any difficulty with the functioning of the spreadsheet, it does make auditing and updating the spreadsheet quite difficult. I am asking that this issue be forwarded to the correct Microsoft department for correction.

    This does sound worth reporting, especially if the hyperlink target is correct but Excel highlights/navigates to the wrong location.

    Before reporting it, test the workbook in Excel Safe Mode and create a small test workbook with the same type of direct cell hyperlinks. That will help determine whether the behavior is workbook-size specific or an Excel rendering/navigation issue.

    Microsoft confirms that hyperlinks can target specific cells directly, so named ranges aren't required.

    If it reproduces consistently, use Excel → Help → Feedback (or File → Feedback) and include a sample workbook, Excel version/build, expected versus actual target, and screenshots. Feedback submitted there goes directly to the appropriate Microsoft 365 product team.
