Hi there,

I am getting the following alert message in Teams "Can't sync right now. We'll try again soon."
I have emptied my cache but that is not resolving the issue.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Kelly

This issue might be related to the ongoing incident with Microsoft 365 (Business or Enterprise)

    https://status.cloud.microsoft/m365/

"Microsoft Teams: Users may experience issues with calendar functionality and search. Users’ presence may be stale and not update automatically or through manual adjustment. User location adjustment may fail. "

    Hi Kelly,

Thank you for sharing the details of your situation.

The “Can’t sync right now. We’ll try again soon” message indicates that Teams is currently unable to synchronize some information with the Microsoft 365 service. Since clearing the cache did not resolve the issue, the problem may be related to the Teams application, your connection, or a temporary service issue.

In the meantime, here are some steps you can try:

    1. Select Refresh on the notification banner, if the option is available.
    2. Completely quit Teams by right-clicking the Teams icon in the taskbar and selecting Quit, then reopen the application.
    3. Sign out of Teams, restart your device, and sign back in.
    4. Check for Teams updates by selecting Settings and more (...) > Settings > About Teams.
    5. Try using https://teams.microsoft.com/ to determine whether the issue is limited to the desktop application.

Additionally, if the issue started recently and you are also experiencing problems with Teams calendar, search, presence status, or location updates, it may be related to the ongoing service incident MO1465074

User's image In that case, please reach out to your organization’s IT administrator so they can monitor the incident status in the Microsoft 365 admin center > Health > Service health. Once the incident is resolved, please restart Teams and check whether synchronization resumes normally.

I hope this information is helpful. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to reply in the comments below.

If Teams shows "Can't sync right now. We'll try again soon.", the supported first step is to force a refresh or restart the app.

    1. If a banner appears at the top of Teams, select Refresh. This restarts the app and should resync it.
    2. If that does not help, fully quit Teams:
      • Windows: right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar and select Quit
      • Mac: right-click the Teams icon in the dock and select Quit
    3. Reopen Teams and check whether sync resumes.
    4. If using Teams on mobile, open the app and pull down to refresh.

Since the cache was already cleared, the next supported action is a full app restart rather than repeating cache steps.

If the issue is specifically between Planner in Teams and the Planner web experience, that behavior can be expected in some cases. The Planner app inside Teams does not currently synchronize across platforms the same way as the web version. In that case, use Go to website from Planner in Teams to open the online version at tasks.office.com, which does synchronize with Teams.
