Logo suddenly doesn't show up in my signature

I've used the same signature since 2021 with my logo in it.
In the last week, my logo does not show up anymore and in it's place, it says "The Picture can't be displayed"
I've tried deleting the logo and adding it back, with no success.
The file itself is not corrupt. It's location hasn't moved. No issues with my employees who also have the same logo in their signatures (theirs show up with no issues).

    Hi Victoria

I’ll give it a try and see if I can help you with that.

To support you, I need more information:

    • Does the logo fail to display only while composing emails, or does it also fail to display in emails that have already been sent? (To confirm, you can send a test email to another mailbox and check whether the logo is displayed correctly.)
    • If you sign in to Outlook on the web at https://outlook.office.com, does the logo appear correctly in your signature there?
    • Is the logo stored on your local computer (for example, in the "Pictures" folder), or is it stored in a cloud-synced location such as OneDrive?

Along the way, I'd like to share a few troubleshooting steps and some screenshots I prepared to help you check whether they can identify the cause of this behavior.

    1/ Create a brand-new test signature

Instead of editing the existing signature:

    • bOpen New Outlook.
    • Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Signatures.
    • Create a new signature with a different name.
    • Insert the logo from a local file (PNG preferred).
    • Save it and assign it as the default signature.
    • Open a new email and test.

If the new signature works, the original signature may be corrupted in Microsoft's roaming signature storage

2/ Test with a different image file

This helps determine whether Outlook is having difficulty with a specific image format or image file.

    • Save a copy of the current logo with a different filename. If possible, save it as a PNG file.
    • Insert the new copy into the test signature created in Step 1.
    • Create another new email and verify whether the image displays correctly.

I hope I've been able to help in some way. Please keep me posted.

Take care and have a great weekend!

This matches a known classic Outlook issue where images in emails, newsletters, or signatures stop rendering and show an error such as "The linked image cannot be displayed" after the May 12, 2026 updates.

To confirm whether this is the issue:

    1. Open the email in classic Outlook.
    2. On the ribbon, select Move > Actions > Other Actions > View Source.
    3. Search the message source for cid inside the src attribute in a v:imagedata tag, for example: <v:imagedata src=cid:image001.png@... o:title="" />
    4. If that pattern is present and the image is not rendering, the problem is the known Outlook issue.

    Important details:

    • Original messages should display correctly again once the fix is installed.
    • Replies or forwards to affected messages may permanently miss the image because it was not included.
    • The issue is marked fixed. The Word Team released a fix, and channels that did not yet have the fixed build were expected to receive it in the June 9 public updates.

If the problem is only with the signature image itself, recreate the image entry in the signature using Outlook’s image insertion flow instead of a pasted or broken reference:

    1. Open a new message.
    2. Select Signature > Signatures.
    3. In Select signature to edit, choose the signature.
    4. Select the Image button, browse to the logo file, and select Insert.
    5. If needed, right-click the image, choose Picture, open the Size tab, and resize it there.
    6. Select OK, then OK again to save.

Also avoid signatures that use VML tags, because they can cause elements to appear as attachments instead of inline images.
