Additional calendar-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Try these checks based on the scenario where the Teams toggle is on but no join link appears:
- Create the event from Teams Calendar or Outlook calendar, then send/save it first.
- For standard Teams meetings, the meeting link is automatically created after the meeting is created and sent.
- After that, reopen the meeting from the calendar to view the link.
- In Teams, go to Calendar > New meeting/New event.
- Add the title, date/time, and attendees.
- Make sure the Teams meeting option is turned on.
- Select Send.
- Then return to the calendar item and open it again. The Teams meeting link should be shown there.
- In Outlook or new Outlook, create a New meeting/New event.
- Turn on the Teams meeting option.
- Send the invite.
- Reopen the event from the calendar to see the generated Teams link.
- If the link still does not appear for new invites in classic Outlook, re-enable the Teams add-in:
- File > Options > Add-ins
- In Manage COM Add-ins, select Go
- Clear Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office, select OK
- Go back in and enable it again
- This has been reported to restore the Teams link for new calendar invites.
- If the Teams meeting toggle itself is available but still does not generate links, one reported cause is a corrupted mailbox calendar configuration where
DefaultOnlineMeetingProvideris not set correctly. In that case, an Exchange admin can set the mailbox calendar configuration to use Teams. - If Meet now is being used instead of a scheduled meeting, the link is created through Calendar > Meet now > Get a link to share. Also note that Meet now requires an Exchange Online mailbox; without one, that option does not appear.
For Customer Insights - Journeys events, the attendee URL is created when the event is saved, but registrants should be invited through the email invitation method rather than sharing the attendee URL directly.
