Moving a file or folder via Microsoft TEAMS

Hello,

I am a new user of Microsoft TEAMS.

I want to share documents at a specific date and time (start of classes)

I have created two folders: 1 to deposit the files (with private access for me only) and a Student Supports folder.

I added a date time column to indicate the start of the lessons.

I want each file to be moved to the Student Materials folder on the start date and time of the course. I used the Quick Step feature > move a file or folder.

But it doesn't work. Do you know how to proceed?

Thank you in advance :).

    Hi Dalton,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I understand that you would like to automatically release materials to students on a scheduled date and time, rather than manually moving the files when the class begins.

In practice, Quick Steps is not a scheduling feature. It only performs actions when triggered by a user or invoked as part of certain configured processes, and it cannot automatically wait until a specific date and time to run.

In this scenario, you would need to use Power Automate to handle the automation process, for example:

    1. Periodically check the Date/Time column.
    2. When the specified time is reached:
      • Move the file to the Student Materials folder.
        • Or modify the file permissions so that students can access the content.

As our current support scope is primarily focused on Microsoft 365 products, while the issue you are experiencing is related to Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate, I want to ensure that you receive the most accurate and effective assistance.

Therefore, I recommend posting your question in the Microsoft Power Platform Community Forum.

    Microsoft Power Platform Community

There, you can receive support from the appropriate specialists, as well as community experts and partners who regularly monitor the forum. They may be able to share real-world experience and provide solutions that are better suited to your specific scenario.

I apologize for directing you to another community. However, since the scope of this forum is primarily focused on Microsoft 365, our expertise with Power Apps and Power Automate is limited. Reaching out through the appropriate support channel will help you obtain a faster and more accurate resolution.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
