Try these steps in order for a Windows 11 Bluetooth toggle that turns off again:
- Make sure the PC actually supports Bluetooth.
- If this is a new device or Bluetooth recently disappeared, check the device specifications first.
- Check that Airplane mode is off.
- Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the right side of the taskbar.
- Make sure Airplane mode is turned off.
- Turn Bluetooth on from Settings.
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Next to Bluetooth, select Run and complete the prompts.
- Update the Bluetooth driver.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Restart the PC after the update.
- If Windows says the best driver is already installed, download the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC manufacturer’s support website and install that version, then restart.
- Reinstall the Bluetooth adapter.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device > Uninstall.
- Select Start > Power > Shut down.
- Wait a few seconds, turn the PC back on, and let Windows reinstall the driver.
- If it does not reinstall automatically, open Device Manager and select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- Install the latest Bluetooth driver directly from the PC manufacturer.
- Search the manufacturer support site by the exact PC or motherboard model.
- Install the Bluetooth driver listed for Windows 11.
- Restart and test the toggle again.
If the Bluetooth icon is missing but Bluetooth still appears in Device Manager, the uninstall/reinstall step is specifically recommended.
