I would like to know how an interpreter switches the language of interpretation on mobile.

I would like to inquire about the language settings for interpreters in Teams.

When attending a meeting as an interpreter,

When attending on the PC version, you can freely change the interpretation language settings according to the language pair.

However, when attending a meeting through a mobile device as an interpreter,

If the language pair is Korean or<-> Japanese, interpret in Korean.

Even if you change the language from the language settings to Japanese in the language settings and the transcript to interpret in Japanese, you can still interpret only on the Korean channel.<-> Even if you are set to be a two-way interpreter for Korean and Japanese, you cannot change it on mobile.

The meeting settings are the same, but you can only change the language on the PC version.

(Please refer to the photo.) In the PC version, you can select the language you need to interpret during the meeting via the button below.)

Originally, mobile does not support the interpreter's preset interpretation language,

If it does, I'd like to know which menu I can choose from.

    Hello @Woods Cassie

Based on the information you provided, I understand that the Teams Interpreter feature on your mobile device is not working as expected. When Japanese is selected, the interpretation is displayed in Korean instead.

I was unable to locate the screenshot you mentioned. Could you please resend or attach the image again for my review?

I have also tested this scenario on my mobile device and was able to use the Japanese interpretation feature without any issues.

As an initial troubleshooting step, could you please uninstall and reinstall the Teams mobile app, then test the feature again?

If the issue persists, please help provide the following information:

    1. What is the model of your mobile device?
    2. Are any of your colleagues experiencing the same issue?
    3. If you sign in and test on a different mobile device, does the issue still occur?

The information above will help me better understand the situation and investigate the issue more effectively.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any updates or additional findings. I look forward to hearing from you.

On mobile, the available Interpreter controls in Teams are participant controls, not interpreter-role channel switching controls.

For mobile meetings, the documented steps are:

    1. Tap More in the meeting controls.
    2. Tap Turn on Interpreter.
    3. In Interpretation language, choose the language to translate into.
    4. In Interpretation audio, adjust Balance audio and choose Your voice representation.
    5. Tap Turn on Interpreter.

To change settings later on mobile:

    • Tap More in the meeting controls.
    • Tap Language settings > AI Interpretation language or Interpretation audio.

The available documentation does not describe a mobile menu for an interpreter to switch between the two assigned interpretation directions during the meeting, like the interpreter controls available on desktop.

For the older human interpreter feature, the documentation explains how organizers assign interpreters and language pairs, but it does not provide a mobile interpreter menu for switching the active interpretation direction.

Based on the documented mobile experience, if Korean↔Japanese direction switching is available on desktop but not on mobile, mobile does not have a documented interpreter-direction switch control.
