Hello,

I'm trying to download Symantec DLP from the company portal, and it's been stuck on 'downloading' for about a week.

  • ID : ******@asml.com

Could you please help me check if there's any error on the portal and complete installing the program?

Thanks in advance.

For a Company Portal app that is stuck on Downloading, use this troubleshooting path:

    1. Open Company Portal and go to Apps.
    2. Select the Symantec DLP app.
    3. Check the app status details. If the install shows a failed status link with an error code, select it to search on the error code.
    4. In Company Portal, go to Help & support.
    5. Use Get help or Request help and send logs / Upload Logs so the Configuration Manager or Company Portal logs are included with the support request.
    6. If Company Portal can’t be used normally, use the Company Portal website support options.

A common reason a device stays stuck downloading is that the client device is not in the correct boundary associated with the boundary group for the distribution point, which can prevent content download. On the client, UpdatesHandler.log can also be checked to see why the download failed.

If the Symantec DLP package involved is the Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention migration assistant for Symantec, and the issue is with that installer rather than Company Portal delivery, verify these prerequisites:

    1. Restart the machine after installing prerequisites.
    2. Start the tool with Run as administrator.
    3. Check the PsModulePath user variable and ensure C:\Program Files\PowerShell\7\Modules is present and moved to the top.
    4. If install or uninstall is blocked by another installation, open Task Manager > Details, find msiexec.exe, and select End Task, or wait for the other installation to finish.
    5. Review local logs at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\MigrationAssistantforMicrosoftPurviewDLP\Logs.
