HOW TO DELETE MICROSOFT WORK OR SCHOOL ACCOUNT

It depends what needs to be removed:

• Remove a work or school account from a Windows device: go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school, select the account, then choose Disconnect and confirm. This removes the sign-in information and data from that device, but does not delete the account itself.
• If the account was added to Windows and the device is no longer available: go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/device-list, expand the device details, and select Disable lost device.
• If the account is in Microsoft Teams Free as an organization: in Teams Free, go to Settings > Accounts and orgs, find the organization, and select Leave. It can take a few hours to update; signing out and back in again may be required.
• If the goal is to fully close an unmanaged Microsoft Entra work or school account: sign in to close your account, open My data requests, and select Close account.
• For Teams on Windows with a work or school account: Settings > Accounts > Access work or school may allow Manage and then Sign out everywhere. To remove the account completely, contact the IT admin.
