my license disappeared

This usually means Office can no longer validate the license for PowerPoint. The most common causes are signing in with the wrong account, multiple Office installs causing activation conflicts, or an expired subscription.

Try these steps in order:

1. Sign in with the account that owns Office
   • Open PowerPoint.
   • If prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy or activate Office.
   • If the wrong account is used, Office can show “We couldn't find any Office products.”
2. Check subscription status
   • If the subscription expired, Office can report that the license was not found.
   • If the subscription is expired or suspended, renew or reactivate it.
3. Check for multiple copies of Office
   • More than one installed copy of Office can cause activation conflicts.
   • Remove extra Office installs if more than one copy is present.
4. Use the Update License button
   • In Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, go to File > Account.
   • Under Product Information, select Update License.
   • This forces the device to refresh the license immediately.
   • If Couldn't update license with Error Code: 44 appears, that is almost always caused by being signed in with an account other than the one that has the license.
5. If the notice says the subscription was cancelled or there is an account notice
   • A payment problem can trigger this, such as an expired or cancelled credit card.
   • If nothing is done, Office can go into reduced functionality mode, where documents can still be opened and printed but not edited or created.
6. Use guided activation troubleshooting if it still fails
   • Guided support in the browser is available for Office activation problems.

If PowerPoint alone is affected while Word and Excel still work, start with the account check and Update License first.
