I cannot hear any audio in a Teams call, and meeting attendees cannot hear me. My microphone and speakers are working fine in other applications.

There is no "Make a test call" option available for you because you are signed in to Teams with a personal account (aka. Teams Free). The "Make a test call" feature is only available for users with a business account. Microsoft 365 Personal, Family or Premium subscriptions are all personal accounts.

Unfortunately, there is no reliable option to test audio/video in Teams Free. You may create a new meeting and make use of the "Test mic and speaker" option, but this feature is not reliable and might be confusing.

    Hello @Joseph Shrawder

To help narrow down the cause, could you please confirm the following?

    • Are you using the Teams desktop application or Teams on the web?
    • Are you using Windows or macOS?
    • Does this happen in every Teams call and meeting, or only in one particular meeting?
    • Are you using the computer’s built-in microphone and speakers, a wired headset, or a Bluetooth device?
    • In Teams, under Settings and more > Settings > Devices, are the correct microphone and speaker selected?

    Please also check the following:

    Check microphone privacy permissions

If you are using the Teams desktop application, make sure the operating system allows Teams to access your microphone.

    Windows

    1. Open Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone. User's image
    2. Turn on Microphone access.
    3. Turn on Let apps access your microphone.
    4. Turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.  User's image

If these settings are already enabled, try switching them off and back on, then restart Teams or the computer.

    macOS

    1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
    2. Make sure Microsoft Teams is allowed.
    3. Close Teams completely, reopen it, and test again.

Thank you again for your time and understanding.  I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.
