Wolfram Data Bar

There is a banner above my excel sheet which shows:

"The Wolfram data types in this file are no longer supported. You will not be able to add more data types by Wolfram, refresh them, or access any new Wolfram content that's not already stored in this workbook."

I understand this message, but is there any way to turn off or remove this information bar from my sheet? It is unnecessary to have to see this every day. How can I un-associate the worksheet from Wolfram? I.E. stop seeing this banner

Hi Stephanie,

The banner is displayed because the workbook contains Wolfram data types, which Microsoft no longer supports. As a result, Excel shows a notification that these data types can no longer be refreshed or updated. Existing data remains available in the workbook, but the service connection has been retired.

At this time, Excel does not provide an option to simply hide or disable this notification while Wolfram data types are still present in the workbook. To remove the banner, the workbook would need to be disconnected from the Wolfram data types by either:

  1. Convert Wolfram data types to plain values
    • Select cells containing Wolfram data types.
    • Copy them.
    • Paste Special > Values.
    • Save and reopen the workbook.
  2. Delete the Wolfram data type columns/cells
    • If they are no longer needed, removing them should eliminate Excel's association with the unsupported data type.
  3. Create a clean workbook
    • Copy only the values, formulas, and formatting you need into a new workbook, avoiding the Wolfram-linked data type objects.

Once the Wolfram data type objects are removed, the warning should no longer appear.

I hope this information is useful. Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I look forward to your thoughts on this.
