Paper size is different when exporting from Excel

Verify that the paper format is correct in the Page Setup dialog box (as Ana Le has already suggested). I would also verify that the paper format is correct in the File > Print screen and then try converting to PDF by using the Microsoft Print to PDF virtual printer. Does that produce the desired output?

Could you clarify whether the PDF page itself has a different size—for example, A4 becomes Letter—or whether the page size is correct but the worksheet content appears resized or repositioned? These indicate different settings.

Please try the following on the affected worksheet:

1. Go to Page Layout, select the small Page Setup dialog launcher, then open the Page tab.
2. Confirm the intended Paper size and Orientation.
3. Under Scaling, temporarily select Adjust to: 100% instead of Fit to, then check the result under File > Print before exporting again.

If the mismatch is specifically between A4 and Letter:

1. Go to File > Options > Advanced.
2. Under General, clear Scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11" paper sizes.
3. Export the worksheet again.

Also check that the printer selected under File > Print, including its printer properties, supports and uses the same paper size. If Microsoft Print to PDF is available, you can select it under File > Print, choose the intended paper size, and compare that PDF with the one created through Export > Create PDF/XPS.

If you are exporting the entire workbook, please verify the Page Setup for every included worksheet, as the settings may differ between sheets.

• The paper size selected in Excel and the actual size shown in the PDF properties
• Whether it happens with all workbooks or only this file
