How to fix receiving event invitations on my aliases

Hi, I've stopped receiving calendar invitations (.ics meeting invites) sent to my email alias on this Hotmail/Outlook.com account. The emails don't arrive anywhere at all- not in Inbox, not in Junk, not in Deleted Items.

Key details:

  • This only affects invites sent to my alias address, not necessarily my primary address
  • Other recipients booking through the same sender/tool receive their invites without issue, so it isn't a sender-side problem
  • I've already checked and ruled out:
    • Blocked senders and domains list (nothing blocking the sender)
    • Inbox rules (no rules that could be moving or deleting this mail)
    • Mailbox storage (currently at 18% usage, well within limits)
    • Junk/Spam folder (invites are not landing there either)

I have been using these aliases for 15 years and never had problems until this year

    Hi M A S,

To help isolate the issue further, I recommend testing with:

    • A meeting invitation sent to your primary Outlook.com address
    • The same invitation sent to the affected alias
    • A regular email (non-calendar message) sent to the alias

You can also try temporarily setting the affected alias as the primary alias on the account and then retesting. If invitations still do not arrive anywhere in the mailbox, the issue is more likely related to Outlook.com's backend processing of mail sent to that alias.

Please let us know the outcome of the primary-address vs. alias-address test, as that will help narrow down whether this is an alias-specific delivery issue or a calendar-processing issue.
