If the advertisements appear in the lower-right corner even when the browser is closed, they may be website notifications rather than traditional pop-ups. In Edge, open Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Notifications, then remove or block any unfamiliar websites from the Allow list. Website notifications can continue appearing after Edge is closed.
Also check Settings > Apps > Installed apps, sort the list by installation date, and uninstall any unfamiliar program installed shortly before the problem began. Avoid selecting the advertisements or downloading any “cleaner” they recommend.
Afterward, open Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Scan options and run a Full scan. If a pop-up prevents Edge from closing, use Task Manager, select Microsoft Edge, and choose End task. Microsoft also recommends scanning the device when a persistent pop-up may be related to malware or a support scam.
If possible, share a screenshot of one pop-up with any personal information hidden.
