In a Teams video conference, the other party shares the screen, and I see that the other party's content is not clear

Hello

Ask questions about using Teams shared desktops.

The scene is that after the other party "shares the desktop", they display Excel content, or other web pages, such as Outlook.

I see content that I can't see in detail due to laptop screen and resolution issues. The other party needs to zoom it before it can be seen clearly.

Can I use a Teams option here, or on the page where the desktop is currently shared, I can zoom to see the "partial content" more clearly?

    Hi @Brooks Kendall

Based on the information you provided, I understand that when another participant shares their entire desktop in a Teams meeting, content such as Excel spreadsheets, Outlook, or web pages appears too small or unclear on your laptop. You would like to know whether you can zoom in on the shared screen yourself without asking the presenter to enlarge the content.

Please be advised that there is currently an active Microsoft Teams service incident, in which some users may experience degraded video quality during screen sharing. Microsoft has identified a recent meeting performance optimization update as the cause and is deploying a configuration update to mitigate the impact.

The issue is currently being investigated and monitored. I will continue to follow the service incident and will update you when further information becomes available.

Yes. In a Teams meeting, shared content can be zoomed locally by the viewer, so the presenter does not need to zoom the Excel sheet or web page first.

    Options while viewing shared content:

    1. Use the zoom controls in the meeting window:
      • + to zoom in
      • - to zoom out
    2. Use keyboard shortcuts in meetings:
      • Windows: Alt + Shift + + to zoom in, Alt + Shift + - to zoom out, Alt + Shift + 0 to reset
      • Mac: Option + Shift + + to zoom in, Option + Shift + - to zoom out, Option + Shift + 0 to reset
    3. Pan around the zoomed content:
      • Windows: Alt + Shift + Arrow keys
      • Mac: Option + Shift + Arrow keys
    4. Use mouse or trackpad:
      • Pinch in or out on a trackpad
      • Hold Ctrl and scroll with the mouse to zoom shared content
    5. Open the shared content in a separate window for a larger view:
      • In Teams for desktop, during the meeting, select Open in new window from the meeting toolbar

    Notes:

    • On Mac, trackpads do not support zoom in meetings, so use the keyboard shortcuts or other zoom options instead.
    • If the shared content is still hard to read, opening it in a new window can help by giving more screen space.
